Ask Raymond !
"
Hello Raymond, how are you? I was hoping you cud help me with this one. So listen up, I like Lebanon n everything but I just don't belong here.. I have lots of ambitions that I wud like to make come true... But the thing is I wud wuna travel and do other stuff in my life than just staying here and growing up like any other person. My parents won't let me do the things I like, they won't even let me continue my education in the States or something... What can I do to convince them that it is my life, my decisions and mistakes? .. Sincerely, me. "
Hey you,
I'm good and you seem to be confused.
I promise I'll try my best to help you out;
I understand your feelings very well considering how I feel the exact same way....
Anyway, I found out that the trick is to show them that you're responsible and that you're capable of taking care of yourself.... You must also understand that your parents' refusal is most probably because of their incapacity of letting you go....
So, step 1 : Prove yourself to them
step 2 : Apply to the universities you want anyway, because if you do get accepted that will help you convince them of how serious you are about your decision,
step 3 : Get closer to your parents, allow them to get to know you as the mature person that you've grown to be they'll understand you better thus understand your choices.
step 4 : Explain slowly and on various occasions but in different ways why you wouldn't want to stay here, insist on the arguments that involve your professional status.
step 5 : Apply to embassies to get your visa because these things take time and your parents might use the same argument against u.
step 6 : Most importantly you must do all of this on your own, DO NOT ASK YOUR PARENTS FOR HELP AND DO NOT TELL THEM UNTIL THE MOMENT IS RIGHT WHICH DEPENDS ON WHETHER YOU DO GET ACCEPTED IN A FOREIGN UNIVERSITY OR NOT.
Thats basically what I'm trying to do and I hope it'll help you.
Thank you for posting.
Take care, and keep me posted on what happens,
Raymond.

“Hey Raymond, how are you?
I was just wondering why is your name Raymond? I mean why did u choose the name Raymond for the advice column?
I thought it’s supposed to be a name of someone at school or something but whom, of course, wouldn’t be the same person writing these advices!
Anyhow, have a nice day! And Happy New Year!
Signed,
AY. ”
Hey Andy, I’m good what about you buddy?
Well that’s quite an interesting question you asked! I, however, don’t see why the choice of my name may intrigue you but I’ll answer you of course.
I chose the name Raymond because it means protect (Ray) and wisdom (mund) and that felt suitable for an advice column!
Thanks for asking.
Have a nice day as well. And happy New Year!
Raymond.

Introduction
Many young men and women have this stereotyped idea that they should all skinny-up. And that exact thought is the reason why we find a lot of unhealthy teens, facing eating disorders such as anorexia. And those who haven’t reached that state yet, are progressively heading towards it.
Facing that one problem, we have another, which is also damaging the brains of our young generation. And that is, losing weight.
A lot of adolescents, and grownups, have a very wrong idea of what a diet really is. Though going on a diet is like following up a road of righteousness, some tend to ruin their health by their mistaken idea of what a diet really is. A diet isn’t “simply not eating” nor “surviving on apples”, it is rather “eating the right stuff”. It is as simple as that. Now most of you know that, but tend to ignore it. Ignorance leads nowhere.
Some of you may find it hard to resist all the “yumminess” and “deliciousness” surrounding you, but that is why you should challenge yourselves, using the one gift you have that no other creature was lucky to get, your will power.
Will power is mostly ignored by mankind; some only use it when in need. However, to be able to transform yourselves into better human beings, inside and out, will power is all it takes. This does not mean to give up on chocolate bars, good cakes, or a perfect piece of pretzel, it is not always the quality, it is also the quantity.
Live in moderation. Cherish your many gifts as a human, most importantly, freedom of choice.
So that’s why, I, Rayan Tannir, will be giving you health tips on a regular basis. I will be glad to receive letters from you explaining your health problems, and will sure be honored to answer them.
Here are some of my start-up tips:
*Tip n.1: Do not confuse hunger with thirst. You may have a constant feeling of hunger hanging around, that is actually your body demanding water. Drink a lot of water throughout the day, and don’t be afraid to dehydrate them.
*Tip n.2: Whenever you feel like eating, ask yourselves “am I really hungry?”, and try looking for hunger signs in your body, such as a growling stomach. Beware of cravings, they are the motors of obesity.
*Tip n.3: Never eat till you feel stuffed! When you are done eating, you should feel better, satisfied, and not stuffed, bloated or tired!
*Tip n.4: Eat small quantity meals many times throughout the day, never exceed the size of your stomach, just imagine where all the food you eat are ending up, try to see if they visually fit.
*Tip n.5: Exercise! You want use up all the calories you consumed, do not leave them hanging in your system and turn into fat. Burn them!
Nevertheless, you should always keep in mind, that losing weight, takes time & patience. You will not lose weight over night. Moreover, losing weight should not make you feel unhappy with who you are, but rather excited to who you’re going to be.
No matter how you look like, what size you are, or shape you are, remember that this is who you are, and being who you are, is what matters the most, and changing your looks, will not change you. Keep that in mind.
Take care, till next time…
